We provide a comprehensive solution to strategically manage your learning and development needs. Targeted at the home care and hospice industries, we have the tools and resources to prepare home care and hospice organizations to be leaders in quality and results.
Home Care Institute's premier solution is the LearnCenter Portal – a full-featured, Internet-based learning management system branded to your organization. With an affordable annual subscription, home care and hospice employees have unlimited access to a state-of-the-art platform that fully supports all aspects of the learning function.
Engaging and Interactive Content
Home Care Institute and its partners offer an expansive and growing library of engaging and interactive technology-based content targeted at the home care, hospice and private duty industries. E-learning courses are not built to simply provide a compliance check mark, but to achieve organizational and learner outcomes and needs.
Science in how people acquire knowledge and demonstrate positive behavior change confirms that interactive content in which the learner is actively engaged produces the best outcomes. Our courses include critical information that offers many opportunities to practice new concepts in a safe, non-judgmental environment. This enhances motivation and stimulates a desire to learn and succeed. By immediately applying new concepts into situations familiar to the learner, critical thinking and positive behavior change is enhanced.
Learning and Performance Resources
Home Care Institute provides its clients, and the home care and hospice industry in general (via our webiste), with a wide variety of downloadable resources to supplement our e-learning course library. As each course is developed, one or more supplemental job aids or patient education resources are produced to complement the subject matter discussed and to provide the learner with an ongoing, searchable index of resources to enhance the work they do.
While learning is enhanced with the interactive and engaging content we produce, We recognize that not all material covered in our courses will be remembered over time. Our job aids and patient education resources pull out the critical information covered and presents it in a succinct and concise format. Patient education resources are developed at the 3rd and 5th grade levels and are topic-specific. Subect areas include disease and symptoms management, diet and medication resources, and a wide-vareity of tools and diaries to allow patients and caregivers to carefully document and communucate their recovery.
Clients also have the ability to develop and post proprietary resources that are loaded onto their LearnCenter Portals for use only by their organizations.
Strategic Educational Consulting
While Home Care Institute provides its clients with a large and growing library of content specific to home care and hospice, our custom development team also offers complimentary consulting services to subscribing organizations to assist in the development of proprietary, client-specific educational resources. These services focus on the development of web-based courses in a variety of formats (PowerPoint conversions, virtual recorded content, video-based traning, hardcopy resources, and many other sources). Clients are assisted to develop their proprietary subject-matter and then Home Care Institute uses web-based authoring tools to publish the content into a format that can be automatically assigned to learners and tracked for completion. Clients can use a variety of automatic tracking methods, including interactivities, post-tests, and electronic attestations.
Client-specific resources can be added to knowledge programs to augment Home Care Institute's library or to disseminate information for unlimited purposes, including survey preparation, post-survey action plan training, review of policies and procedures, electronic tracking of regulatory training, recorded staff meetings, and general distribution of new information.
Home Care Institute also consults with clients to evaluate their current educational processes and make recommendations for improvement or expansion. Consulting can occur virtually or onsite.
